Brian Blade is one of our favorite drummers and any show he plays is always at the top of our list. With his profound sense of rhythm and musical intuition he brings both intensity and sensitivity to every performance. His style blends the exploratory spirit of jazz with the grounded emotionality of roots music, making him a sought-after collaborator with both jazz legends like Chick Corea and Wayne Shorter as well as singer/songwriters like Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan.

A Louisiana native, Blade’s musicality is steeped in soulful traditions, adding depth to his contributions across jazz, folk, and rock genres and giving him unique ability to balance complexity with accessibility, making his music both thought-provoking and welcoming.
